Kathmandu, June 12: The Naya Shakti Nepal, a new political force led by Dr Baburam Bhattarai after his voluntary isolation from the then UCPN (Maoist) is holding a programme at the local Dashrath Stadium to formally announce establishment of a political party.
Top political leaders including Prime Minister and CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN ( Maoist Center) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the Legislature-Parliament members have been invited to the inaugural session of the programme, Ram Chandra Jha, a leader representing the Madhes, said.
The next two sessions– to be held on Monday and Tuesday—will take place at the Kamaladi-based Nepal Academy and party’s policies and programmes and the matters relating to the appointment of more party office-bearers will be finalised from the same venue, according to Party Spokesperson Khimlal Devkota.
Earlier, the party formed a main management committee headed by its leader Devendra Poudel and other 14 sub committees in view of the party’s formal announcement ceremony. The party has invited chiefs of 25 diplomatic missions here to the ceremony.
Indian leaders KC Tyagi, DP Triphati and leftist journalist Anand Swarup Barma are already in the capital to join the inaugural session. The party took out rallies from the four locations of the capital before the ceremony and apologised for inconveniences caused by it to the public.
The party has said that over 100,000 of its members are taking en-masse oath as founding members in the ceremony today going to be held under the theme of ‘Economic Development , outlet for present Crisis. RSS
