Kathmandu, July 27: The private medical college proprietors have organised a protest demonstration in Kathmandu calling for scrapping the agreement reached with Dr Govinda KV.

The private medical operators from across the country assembled at Maitighar Mandala and held a protest rally from there up to Naya Baneshwar. They contend that the agreement that the government has reached with Dr KC would jeopardise the private medical colleges.
They have demanded that the government not take away the livelihood of employees working in the medical colleges, reduce the admission quota of students studying in medical colleges fulfilling the set criteria and neglect the domestic capital and creative human resources in the name of making the medical education qualitative.
Dr Bhola Rijal, Operator of the Nepal Medical College, Jorpati said the demonstration was organised to protest the ‘interference’ on the private medical colleges. He said that they were providing scholarships to 300 students in the MBBS level, warning that the national capital would see flight out of the country if the private medical colleges are made to decline.
Proprietors, employees and students of medical colleges from across the country including Nepal Medical College, KIST Medical College, Nepalgunj Medical College participated in the protest rally. RSS
